I am university assistant at at Graz University of Technology, and head of the Social Computing research group at the Know-Center. Besides, I teach 707.000 Web Science and Web Technologies and 707.032 Science 2.0 at Graz University of Technology. My research interests include Social Computing, Web Science, Social Media, Science 2.0, Social Network Analysis, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Information Quality and Credibility Assessment, Data Mining, and Natural Language Processing. In my current research, I focus on analyzing and learning from social interactions to develop models, tools, and algorithms for evaluating the quality and trustworthiness of socially generated knowledge. As an area manager at Know-Center, I am responsible for managing multiple large national and international application oriented scientific and industry driven projects. I also coordinate the Marie Curie FP7-PEOPLE-2011-IRSES project Web Information Quality Evaluation Initiative (WIQ-EI) in which I lead a work package. Besides, I am work package leader in the FP7 IP Learning Layers. I have published a significant number of scientific publications in top-tier venues, e.g. the ACM World Wide Web Conference (WWW), ACM Conference on Hypertext and Social Media (HT), on topics like Information Quality Assessment, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, and Information Visualization and I have given several invited talks in the mentioned fields. I regularly act as a PC member on scientific conferences.
